BUSINESS ETHICS

These days, thankfully, there is more interest in ethically-run business. This is more weighty reading, but it's part of what makes us what we are and we'd like to present it to you - if you know all about us, perhaps you'll be more inclined to give us a call!

BUSINESS: We run a business to make a profit and keep ourselves employed. Nothing new there. However, we also pride ourselves that we do this in as ethically sound a fashion as we can. Firstly, SERVICE. We try to provide the best possible service, delivered on time within the allocated timescale at a reasonable cost. If you are pleased, we are pleased. We'll explain the more mechanical aspects of the job a bit later but to start with we'd like to tell you a little more about our ethical views.

LOCAL COMMITMENT: We try to benefit others in the course of what we do: we support the local community and help to promote local enterprises. It is part of our philosophy to KEEP IT LOCAL - we interchange work with other local business and will at times provide sponsorship or assistance. Details for some of these are set out below.

TRAINING: We provide opportunities for younger local people and work with local schools & the CITB to provide training and 'taster' opportunities to Year 9 and 10 children. We want to employ and look after local young people, so we provide ongoing training both in-house and out-sourced to York College.

We are particularly keen to support the Malton Palace Cinema and have provided an LCD screen advertising display for their benefit as well as our own, as well as having carried out decorating work there at our cost.

The Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Centre is a hugely valuable local resource. We are keen to encourage and support their encouragement of the arts in Malton's young people and we have tried to do our bit to support their efforts by decorating the Centre, both inside and out.
